Acetaminophen (Generic)

Acetaminophen is a generic pain reliever that is made to treat minor aches and pains. Generic Acetaminophen works as both an analgesic and antipyretic to treat aches, pains and reduce fevers. Acetaminophen is an over-the-counter favorite for millions of patrons worldwide based on its effective relief of common symptoms and the low risk of side-effects. Acetaminophen is most commonly known to treat headaches, but can also be used for muscle aches, colds, fevers, backaches, tooth aches and even arthritis.

Take Acetaminophen orally. Do not take more than 1 gram (1000mg) of Acetaminophen with each dose, and do not exceed more than 4 grams (4000mg) daily. Do not take Acetaminophen with alcohol. Those with alcohol abuse problems are advised to contact their doctor before taking this medication.

Do not take more than the recommended dose, as overdosing can cause serious bodily harm. Acetaminophen is not safe to use for children under 2 years of age, unless otherwise indicated by a trusted healthcare professional.

Most people take Acetaminophen as needed. If you have a regular dosage schedule, take missed doses as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next treatment.

Store Acetaminophen in a cool, dry place away from heat and moisture. Dispose of any unused medication past the point of expiry. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
